Goddess
Your hypnotic blue eyes are ponds in the pale moonlight.
Your regal pose proclaims your Goddess might.
Your sinuous walk rivals the surge of a river.
Your angelic voice makes the world shiver.
In the breeze your dark hair hurls tiny lights.
And your dusky beauty sets the world ablaze.
This poem won inclusion in the National Poetry Society's Anthology in 1995.
